Dropshipping For Beginners
Let us start with a primer on dropshipping for beginners.
What is Dropshipping?
Dropshipping is a business model in which the fulfillment is not handled by the store owner. In simple words, in the dropshipping business, the store owner does not stock the product in his own inventory. Instead, he integrates his business with a reliable supplier for fulfillment.
When a confirmed order is placed in his store, the store owner places an order with his supplier. The supplier in turn ships the product to the end customer in a white label shipping process.
During the entire process, the supplier is always invisible to the end customer. If anything goes wrong, the store owner has to handle the returns, refunds, or customer service management.
Hence, you must choose a reliable and reputable supplier for your dropshipping business. In general, a store owner who runs a dropshipping business connects his store with one of the leading supplier marketplaces like Spocket or Oberlo.
Using a dropshipping platform has several inherent advantages. On one hand, a dropshipping platform ensures that the dropshipper can find many products from different suppliers to choose from.
In other words, he is not restricted to the catalog of a single supplier. On the other hand, the supplier marketplaces list suppliers who are usually vetted and individually reviewed.
We are not going to elaborate any further on dropshipping as a whole. If you want to learn more about the dropshipping business and its pros and cons, you should read our guide on what is dropshipping.
